You Found the Candidate. Get an Independent Assessment.

Candidate Screen is candidate screening for a Remote Team Member (RTM) you found yourself, through a referral or a direct application. BetterWho calls this Bring Your Own RTM (BYOR): you bring the candidate, and we assess them before you make an offer. The service covers the assessment only, with no search for other candidates.

What’s Included

A structured screening of one candidate, delivered as a one-page scorecard within 1–3 business days of sign-up.

  • Intake and Resume Review

    You complete an intake form about the role and the candidate, and we review the candidate’s resume.

  • Standardized Screening Checks

    An audio sample, a written sample, a computer specs check, a typing test and an internet speed test.

  • Interview and Reference Check

    A 30-minute structured interview with the candidate, and a reference check to test what the interview shows.

  • One-Page Scorecard

    Strengths, concerns, reference findings and a Recommended / Not Recommended verdict on one page. The hiring decision stays with you.

  • Placement Credit

    Candidate Screen has no guarantee. If a Recommended candidate is hired and leaves, is terminated or proves a poor fit within 90 days of their start date, the screening fee can be applied as a credit toward any RTM Direct placement.

  • What Candidate Screen Does Not Cover

    Sourcing, background checks, role-specific skills or technical testing, and follow-up calls.

From Candidate to Scorecard

  1. Complete the Intake

    Send the role details and the candidate’s resume through the intake form we email you after payment, and let the candidate know BetterWho will contact them.

  2. Screening Takes Place

    We review the resume, run the standardized checks, interview the candidate for 30 minutes and check a reference.

  3. Receive the Scorecard

    Your scorecard arrives within 1–3 business days, depending on how quickly the candidate responds and references reply.
